Troop 76 Newsletter
Update: June 4th, 2010
It's been a busy year: Several flag burnings, three crucifix erectings, one gang painting "grafitti" in a church, one blood-letting event and that was just the Eagle Projects. We also had one stabbing and several kids being thrown off cliffs. That was at our last campout. I don't think I can take any more! Seriously, it doesn't matter how you spin it, we were busy and had fun doing it all. Except for that stabbing incident - purely accidental - and a great way to show First Aid. One day, Zack may be able stand near Brian WITHOUT the armored suit!
For Rank Advancements, we have:
4 - Eagle
3 - Life working on the last required merit badges and developing Eagle Project plans
5 - Star
2 - 1st Class
1 - Tenderfoot
1 - Scout
We're crossing over 4 Webelos Scouts this Monday night. So, if you were worried we're about to experience dwindling membership now that we have 4 Eagle Scouts that will age out this year, fear no more. The Eagles have said they will stay in the troop! That makes an even 20 Scouts!!
So, the day hike idea went out the window for this year. This still may turn into an offer to make a road trip to Cabela's for personal equipment purchases.
We're looking into a few other fundraising ideas, one being a carwash brought to our attention by Ricky M. I want to take this opportunity to recognize his initiaitive and promote interest in this fundraising idea in order to get the scouts more Scout Bucks, get our faces out in the public eye, and have some fun at the same time. It's tentaticvely scheduled for June 12th, pending approval by the Milford Borough on Monday, June 7th.
